Food is the substance that we ingest to fulfill our body’s requirements. It must contain essential nutrients because nutrients present in it then nourish our cells, and maintain our health and life.

Food is usually of animal or plant origin. One should be careful regarding his food since this food has to enter his body where it can impart any effect either good or bad. In this era, where lots of advancements have taken place, at the same time food quality has been raised. But we know where there are some benefits; there are some drawbacks as well. So this modern world has also introduced people to various dangerous foods such as fast food, junk foods, canned foods, mollusks, pork, coffee, noodles, pub pies, cellulose-containing foods, etc. Now we will see how they are dangerous to our health.

Fast Foods/Junk Food

Fast foods are the most popular food items among youngsters. It contains burgers either of chicken, beef or fish served with fries and coke. These foods not only lead to weight gain but also produce symptoms such as depression, digestive problems, and mood swings.

Junk foods are those foods that are devoid of any nutritional value. These include potato chips, candy bars, toffees, lollipops, etc. All of them only help to decay your teeth or produce caries.

Canned Food

These are preserved foods, so mostly treated with chemicals. Further chances of nutrient loss are there along with contamination. It is also said eating such processed food may lead to cancerous changes in the body.

Mollusks

Mollusks such as mussels, clams, oysters, etc can be contaminated with lethal microorganisms such as bacteria or parasites. Eating such contaminated foods may lead to health hazards and a lot of money is spent to eradicate the diseases caused by them.

Pork/Meat

Due to contamination, they are quite dangerous. Eating such contaminated beef may lead to infections. Most commonly seen is infection by E.coli causing enteric fever.

Fats laden Foods

They result in hypercholesterolemia and hyperlipidemia and increase the chances of the development of heart disease, atherosclerosis, thrombosis, hypertension, etc.

Noodles

These are having no nutrients other than an increased amount of salt. We all are well familiar with what salt does to our body i.e. it can lead to increase blood pressure.

Like noodles, pies are nothing but just a pack of salt and it is estimated that salt-containing in a pie is equivalent to the salt present in the fifteen chips packets.

Cellulose containing Foods

Cellulose gives no nutrition but may give you gas instead.

Refined Grains: Since refined gains are without any fiber and important vitamin B is also absent in them unlike unrefined grains, they prove dangerous to the human body and must be excluded from the diet. These grains are also associated with the risk of neoplasias and degenerative diseases.

Alcohol: A person who drinks lots of alcohol regularly may develop alcoholic liver cirrhosis, inflammation of different body organs, and cirrhosis complications, putting life to an end.

Meat: The meat is particularly dangerous in red and processed meat. These may lead to increase cholesterol in the body with its subsequent effects along with autoimmune reactions and chronic types of inflammation.

Dairy Products: Although these are not so bad yet milk may prove an allergen to anyone or if someone is lacking lactase enzyme then milk or its products lead to abdominal pain and diarrhea.

Cooking Oils: Usually cooking oil we use at home contains omega 6 fatty acids and miserably low omega 3 fats. The omega-6 fats may prove pro-inflammatory in our bodies.

Artificial Food Additives: It is found that certain food additives such as aspartame may stimulate inflammation in the body.

Trans Fats: These act to reduce high-density lipoprotein (HDL) which is called good cholesterol while increasing low-density lipoprotein (LDL) known as bad cholesterol.

White rice: These are having no nutrient value in them so just avoid them instead, eat brown rice.
